This weekend just past as most of you should know was Halloween and none of you know this but Halloween this year was my boyfriend's and my one year anniversary. To celebrate both the Halloween and my anniversary i had a miniature Halloween haul.
A lot of people over here in Australia don't believe or celebrate Halloween and see it only as an American holiday but to me it is one of the best holidays ever. My weekend line-up was a local Melbourne club 'House of Rock' on Saturday night for a Halloween party, the Halloween only event Club Fangtasia on Sunday, which as most of you know is based on the Vampire only club in True Blood and then a special day with my boyfriend just relaxing.
This haul is not a make-up haul although i did purchase a few 'Halloween 2011 collections' which have not arrived yet, so the moment they do i will post up my first impressions and so on for those. I'm going to begin with a local purchase I made at the store Victorian Gothic in Fitzroy, Melbourne. I'd actually ordered these boots a few weeks prior and my ghoul they had perfect timing arriving just before my massive Halloween weekend.
On Thursday (27th October) i became the proud owner of a pair of Demonia Torment 804s. A pair of pleather knee high, matte black, five inch platforms with metal plated buckles across the front. They cost me (on sale) one hundred and sixty one dollars and i will admit this is the most i have ever paid for shoes but even my mother admits they are well worth it.
I don't know if you know how hard it is to take photos of your own feet in massive heels,.so i was going to show you an image from the Demonia website unfortunately this blog won't post with the image for some reason so you're just going to have to google them.
The boots themselves are really comfortable to wear even for long periods of time. The slop inside the boot is only about half an inch or so because of the height of the both the platform and heel. I wore these on both Saturday and Sunday nights for a period of at least six hours.
I have a major distraction problem, so while i was at Vic Goth picking up my boots i couldn't help but wander into Devil Kitty, a rock-a-billy store just up from Vic Goth and owned by the same people. This turned out to be a very bad move on my part. While browsing the racks i found a Kreepsville 666 skeleton dress that i just had to have. I hadn't planned what i was wearing to the House of Rock Halloween party and this dress fit the bill. It was nearly expensive enough to pass up but i just couldn't leave it, especially after my mother told me that i could get it as an early christmas present :).
The dress cost me sixty five, again on special because i had purchased the boots from Vic Goth.
It features a off-white almost x-ray skeleton like design on the front, feautring from the collar bone to the top of the femur and the standard Kreepsville logo on the back.
I haven't really taken any good photos of this dress so here is one from the internet.

I wore this as a 'skeleton' lady to the House of Rock Halloween party, I did not apply overly scary make up because i didn't want the hassle of taking it off when i got back at whatever hour of the morning.
To see my make-up for both Saturday and Sunday nights please view the Halloween Weekend Makeup post.
During the week a few of my favourite facebook stores were doing Halloween fan sales, due to being a little short on cash i only made a purchase from my gorgeous Lulicool.
The piece i purchased was a necklace; the piece is a hand painted vampire fang cameo with a red polka dotted ribbon and a silver loveheart diamante in the middle of it on a piece of leather cord.
The package was beautifully contained in a black box which was tied with a pink polka dotted ribon and set on a velvet cushion. The parcel also had a free ring included, an awesome pack of brain popping candy and a metal ball chain which i was informed (in my personalized note) was in case the leather cord was too long.
I am in love with this piece and i am so glad that i bought it.
I will definitely be buying from her again...and again.
I am going to finish this Haul with a few Halloween goodies i purchased, and by goodies i mean decorations and so on.
My family surprised me on Sunday morning with a fifty three centimetre tall sound activated skull that lights up and plays a looped soundtrack. I nearly cried with happiness.
For those of you who haven't guessed, my house is full of creepy wonders like the Dracula's walking hands, remote control zombies, the gothic collection statues and candles. Thus this new skull was definitely a must have in my house. The skull was picked up from Costco in Melbourne for i believe sixty six dollars, with a possible employee discount.
I also picked up a pair of bleeding candles from Dusk for five dollars.
From the Reject shop i purchased a 'Beware' sign that lights up and plays the piano piece from the phantom of the opera, ending in a creep 'beware' voice. Last year i found a creepy pumpkin door bell in the Reject shop and this year i found a pyscho looking skull doorbell from the same company.
The Pumpkin has three sayings:
- "Are you scared little goblin? *evil laugh*"
-"Enter at your own risk"
-"Welcome to the haunted house *evil laugh*"
The Skull has only two:
- "Did i get you? Dare you to try it again *psychotic laugh*"
- "Told you i'd get you, try knocking it's safer *psychotic laugh*"
Each of these were eight dollars.
The final pieces i got were two singing plushies, one from Safeway for twenty dollars and one from Coles for ten.
I did grab the Skeleton plushie with the Bat on it's head that sings the Addams family theme which is ironic as my last name is actually Adams. :3
The plushie i picked up from Coles was the frankenstein monster with a pumpkin, both with mouths that move to the song, 'the monster mash'.
This concludes my Halloween and Anniversary Haul i hope you enjoyed reading about it. I will have lots more goodies instore for you as my packages arrive over the weeks.
If you want comment and tell me your favorite parts of Halloween or what decorations you managed to pick up.
Until next time.
Ashiie Imperfect <3
