Ashiie's History of Hair.

Hey Ghouls;
In this post I will be collating a folio of pictures of my colored hair conquests.
I began at the age of twelve and although i don't have any pictures of these at the moment. They will surely come.
My first was a cherry purple temporary (8 wash) dye, it didn't last very long in my long brown hair but it did the job, i was hooked. No longer did i want normal everyday hair, i didn't want to look the same as i did every other time. Brown hair was boring and so i expanded. I wanted to expand (and as ashamed as i am to say it, it must be said.) into the Emo scene and tried to convince my mother to let me dye my hair black. She didn't like the idea and so we made a deal. I'd try blonde and lighter colours first and then i could go to black.
The first time i sat in a hairdressers hair for a dye was in 2006. I cut my knee length brown hair to my shoulders and got copper and blonde foils. I will say this was probably my only dip into the 'pretty girl' look. Short after, maybe three months of so i dyed my hair black. And so it began.

In July of '07' i went back to the hairdressers. Inspired by a friend, i wanted to get a solid bright red fringe in my black hair and ends of my hair. Designed as if paint had been wiped down the back. My first attempt failed. The hairdresser didn't understand what i wanted to achieve. But after a few weeks the end result was wonderful.

Later that year in October '07' I changed again, becoming bored with red i entered a blue and purple phaze. Black hair with a purple fringe and blue ends. This was achieved the first time around. And i kept it for a rather long time before i became bored of it. Eventually the purple faded and i dyed it out, the blue turned that icky green colour and so i went back to black.

By February '08' I had begun feeling plain, i needed a change, something new something interesting. My hair was down to my mid back and it annoyed me. I went back to the red, completing the top half o my hair red and bottom half black, i cut it to my shoulders again and had a choppy little side fringe to go with. As the red began to fade i touched it up with FUDGE red corvette and on top of the burgundy colour my hair had faded to it shone amazingly bright.

This again lasted quite some time, but the adoration for the colour wore off as my hair got longer. I went back to black again (as some of you may have noticed this is my general base colour). In July of '08' i wanted to change. My addiction burned strong and this time i wanted more blue, i took my fringe and a few side bits and dyed them a bright blue with MANIC PANIC, after midnight blue. The affect brought out my blue eyes and the paleness of my skin. It'd be a while before i was dying again.

After a bad break up i decided i needed some fresh air and a new start. For me that would be changing back to my red that made me feel so confident. But first i'd need to bleach my black hair out. My mother did this as a home job, bleaching the black was easy and fun however the blue in my fringe didn't want to budge. This left me with an accidental by amusing and awesome tonal affect that i kept for only a week (due to the fact i dislike myself as a blonde). The following week i attempted to go back to a red, the blue wouldn't take and i ended up with a red blue and purple fringe.

Eventually in March of '09' i managed a decent burgundy red. This would be step one on the way to the bright full head of red that i desired. However it wasn't as simple as i thought.
It took a full year before i would have that colour and during that i experimented with this dark red, deciding to cut myself a full fringe and bangs and then adding black streaks into my fringe in October '09'.

I decided that i needed to get cracking if i wanted this bright red hair. I wanted it by my 18th birthday and so in Feb '10' i achieved the look i wanted. After a bleach,  a blonde dye and more than three tubs of FUDGE the colour was so bright that you had to squint if the sun shined on it the wrong way. To make the hair more interesting i split it and repeated the black under layer I'd tried out in '08'. The result made me so delighted that i went on a photo spree.

 After another bad break up, and quite a bit of fading on the reds part. I decided the full head of red hair was too hard to maintain i would be putting fudge in every month and then re-doing the re-growth every three. I began sick of having to fork out the money and so i went back to my good old black (JUN 10). My mother cut my fringe so precisely that i looked like a china doll.

Once again the addiction kicked in, i began my new obsession and new conquest to go a bright orange. Although it was too soon to bleach my entire head again i settled on one strip on the side of my face, after bleaching it from black and forgetting to re-dye it, the black washed into the strip and turned it another icky green colour. I was rather disappointed. (July 10).

During October '10 i decided enough time had passed for me to bleach my hair again. And i started my great leap to orange. We stripped the black back and my hair went a chestnut brown. Then Put a blonde dye through and it went a brown/orange colour, very bitsy and too many different tonal ranges for my liking. After weeks of trying we final got my hair to a dirty blonde colour and decided that now was the time to put in the Orange MANIC PANIC, electric lava. This was a huge success.

Again however this colour was extremely difficult to maintain, hoping to reduce some of the maintenance and in order for it to blend in with my regrowth i added a black under layer and then streaks into the orange in JAN 11. This however didn't make my hair look better, just dirtier and darker.

In late Feb 11, i had gotten so sick of the dirty look to my hair and the visibility of my regrowth that i went back to black, i didn't however give up on my dream of my bright orange and bleached my fringe and bangs from that mucky orange to a golden blonde. So that at a later date i could restore them to orange. This would be the process from now on. Black hair with the bright colours strewn about inside it.
