Lime Crime: Limited Edition Carousel Glosses Swatches and Review

Hey Ghouls;
Today my lovely slice of Christmas Heaven arrived.
 I am of course talking about my LIME CRIME order.
This order was from the ever so hectic Cyber Monday sale which of course saw the website take a massive hit in traffic and put the Lime Crime team to the test. I’m glad to say they succeeded, getting the site back up and running, allowing extra time for the sale and of course with a little bit of help from their facebook community keeping the fans informed while dealing with a fair few inquiries, not all of them completely necessary.

I’m telling you, if it had of been an in store sale there would’ve been blood.

The delivery time was amazing even battling the Christmas rush. I ordered Cyber Monday and received confirmation that my order had been shipped on the 3rd of December. It arrived today (20th of December) and for those of us in Australia we know that this is seriously fast.
I will mention that I purchased some nail polishes off Ebay which were shipped from America on the first and still haven’t arrived.
As usual the products were shipping in the lovely uni-shipper which, if you don’t know what it looks like you can view my previous review of the Lip Noir collection and Retrofuturistic here; where I go into more depth about the packaging and so on.

I opened the beautiful box to be greeted this time around with lavender tissue paper. Yay for purple! I also got the free Lime Crime unicorn sticker which may or may not be sticking around I’m not sure. It’s beautiful mounds of purple glitter behind the white unicorn logo that features on their website and invoices. Surprisingly my invoice was also on purple paper. I also received the promotional card for the Carousel glosses.

Onto the order itself.
 I purchased the entire Carousel gloss collection, I wanted four of the five colours, which eventually turned into wanting all of them anyway but if anyone is wondering, yes it is better value to if you want three or more to purchase the entire collection and I mean who wouldn’t want them all anyway. And I grabbed the two lipsticks that I wanted for my collection, I’m not really into pink all that much so if you’ve noticed I’ve only been purchasing the colours I really like but maybe eventually I’ll obtain them all anyway.

The Carousel glosses are packaged in a beautiful hexagon purple box which features metallic panels and white striped poles just looking at this packaging makes me remember the good old gold poles that hold your carousel horse in place. There is also quite an elegant touch with what I imagine are pearls around the top and bottom of the box. This I feel makes the product more serious and less like child’s play makeup while still retaining its joyfulness. Of course inside the box is the lime green colour we all adore.

The lip-glosses are bottled in elegant twirled plastic that forms a flower if looked at from the bottom, the lid is the same metallic purple with white and lavender decore and the unicorn logo embossed on the top. All my lip-glosses seal extremely well which is a big point for me after having so many expensive glosses leak in my bag. Another big point for me is instead of the doe-foot applicator that so many of my other glosses have Lime Crime have decided on a brush.
These colours are amazingly opaque and as I was looking through other reviews and swatches I was beginning to doubt that but I believe that (no offence to the others) they were not applying them right. Other images I saw showed the glosses to be patchy and not as pigmented however on my lips at least these are beautifully pigmented and insanely beautiful.

The consistency is thick; however I wouldn’t expect anything less when you have such coverage of colour. I did not want to waste any of the product by doing swatches on my hand so I’ve gone straight for the lips. This first image shows you the natural colouring of my lips, please note that I am very pale and I’ve found most colours tend to ‘pop’ on my essentially white complexion. All the names are inspired by and bring about that carnival feel. All of them also have a wonderful Vanilla scent to them, i honestly feel like eating them it's that good.

Mobile Phone Image.
Cherry On Top – The pink gloss in the collection, in the tube it appears as a reddish pink, this color looks fairly natural on my lips however i get multiple results on camera.

Candy Apple –The red in the collection. Amazing color and texture, feels amazing on the lips and my god the red sparkles at least on my lips look fabulous. I actually like this lipgloss wiped back to get the lips a stained look, the red glitter shows up a heap more!!

Loop-de-loop – A beautiful dark and vibrant blue, unfortunately the flash picks up my pink lips too much however this color is to die for.

Kaleidoscope – A beautiful cool tonned purple. With duo chrome blue in the tube and blue sparkles in the sunlight on the lips. This purples is amazing!! Especially with my pale skin, goes on a treat then again they all have so far. This color is extremely elegant and not too dark as to be seen as gothy (not that that is a problem in my case)

Golden Ticket – A beautiful golden color, it might be close to 24 carot this is a hard color to properly swatch on bare lips because artificial flash from my camera picks up a lot of the pink from my lips.

All swatches are straight on my natural lips, i can't wait to try a few of these with concealed lips.
These lipglosses are the perfect thing to top off a Christmas holiday or in my case even an everyday look. I can't wait to wear these out and about. You don't use much product at all, but as i mentioned before you need to apply it thick to get such a bright color however the does not make your lips sticky, in fact these are not sticky at all. So worth the $17.00 for 0.12 fluid ounces, these will last me a very long time.

LIPSTICK

The lipsticks are packaged as per the norm; again please view my previous review for a more in depth description of packaging. However one of my boxes is now Lavender on the inside, this is really sending me OCD nuts. :P
As I mentioned before I got two lipsticks, my beautiful rocket, which is the a medium tonned orange, not over red and not overly yellow.
and No she didn’t, which is a sky blue.
I find the formula of the lipsticks is exactly the same as the previous ones I’ve purchased.

Note: During my entire blog i've been eating an apple and i would like it to be clear that although the lipstick did transfer to the apple it remained on my lips :3 Thus these lipsticks withstand the eating test!

 I purchased these products by myself for myself as a Christmas Present. These opinions are NOT paid for.

Until Next time remember it's your imperfections that make you unforgettable.

GCC: Rocky Horror Picture Show Limited Edition Halloween

Hey Ghouls;
I know i've been posting a lot lately but that is because as i mentioned in my Glamour Doll Eyes post eight packages arrived on my doorstep. So here is a little swatch and review about two colors from the Limited Edition Halloween Rocky Horror Picture show collection by Geek Chic Cosmetics.
I can't exactly remember what colors there were in the set so if i make a mistake please forgive me but there were three eyeshadows, one lipstick and a blush.
The blush was called Touch Me and was a bright hot pink.
I cannot for the life of me remember what the lipstick was called but it was a cool tonned brown red, that appeared in the swatch to be very creamy. I have not yet personally tried any of the GCC lipsticks however i have heard good things.
The eyeshadow i didn't get i believe was entitled time warp and was a soft shimmery gold cream, the gold is very subtle.
Now on to the two eyeshadows i did get.
I got 'I'm going home' which is an amazing bright sky blue with teal shimmer, the teal is very present in the light.
and 'Madness takes it's toll' which is a minty shimmery white color, it appears to be a very very pale mint green and then shimmers a lovely richer color in the light.

I am very happy i purchased these two colors, the reason i did not purchase the blush is because i very rarely wear blush, i didn't purchase the lipstick because i have many redy brown colors and i did not purchase time warp because it did not speak to me. :3
Along with my package which was prompt as usual i recieved a free sample which i am loving the new packaging of. Instead of the usual baggy which i got last time i ordered i recived my sample in a tiny tub, i'd describe it as a pill tub of some sort. It is a tiny press together container that i find much more effecient than the baggies.
The color i got was Solid Snake which i believe is a single player color. It is a beautiful black wih blue and purple shimmer in the pot but on the skin it is viewed as a brilliantly dark purple with blue glimmer. From far away however this may have a black appearance.

That's all for this post guys.
Until Next time.

Glamour Doll Eyes: Circus Collection with MyEyeShadowIsOdd

Hey Ghouls;
So I love it when I come home and find eight packages on my doorstep :3.
I'm a subscriber of the lovely MyEyeShadowisOdd on youtube and have been for a while and when she uploaded her video about her collaboration between herself and Glamour Doll Eyes I had to purchase it. Not simply for the amazing colors that she has helped to create but also to show support and congratulations with a favourite and most fortunate youtube guru.

The collection is entitled The Circus Collection and if i'm not mistaken this is because of Myeyeshadowisodd's multiple carnival/cirucs make-up tutorials that she had been uploading.
The collection includes seven shadows and one eyelight; one of the shadows was an already established color that is favourite of Natashas.

The colors are all inspired by the street carnival or circus and are as follows;

The eyelight is entitled 'Fire Eater' and is a metallic orange, yellow and red fine glitter that doesn't feel too gritty. Obviously inspired by the old street carnival performers.
Big Top is a vibrant lemon yellow inspired of course by the circus tent in which the entertainment occurs. It is might lighter more of a lemony tone than Sugarpills buttercup, if anyone wanted a comparison.
Fiji Mermaid is probably my favourite color in the collection, it is a wondefully dark teal color but it is so much more than that. You need to see the color to believe it.
Bearded Lady a mediumish brown with a goldish and almost purple shimmer to it.
Electric Chair is the white in the collection, which is a very bright pure white color
Sword Swallower is a traditional silver with some pastel blue tones to it.
Cotton Candy is a vivid sky blue inspired by the blue cotton candy you can get mixed in with the pink.
Oddity is the color that was already established and was then added to the collection. It is a lime green with some lemony yellow shimmer to it and this is an amazing color.
My camera hasn't managed to pick up the pigments well so i've also included the picture from Glamour Doll Eyes of their swatches.

When you purchase the entire collection it comes in a gorgeous box which features a vector of Natasha on it and subsequent promotional items.

You can also get either Cotton Candy poprocks or a Cotton Candy lolipop. I got a Cotton Candy Lolipop which i can proudly say was gluten free and delicious and two carnival tickets that could be your chance to win see the Glamour Doll Eyes facebook for more details.

Over all though my personal swatches look washed out i would like to note that this is simply because of the flash and no because of the actual color. These are highly pigmented and very easy to apply.

I will be expecting more packages over the coming weeks because of Christmas and i'm getting a heap of presents mailed to me.
Until next time.
